Efforts to control the spread of the novel coronavirus have bludgeoned restaurants. In the past week alone, their sales have tumbled as much as 70% due to state prohibitions keeping them from serving food in-house. Rents, however, are due in 10 days as of this writing — and many restaurant owners, having already furloughed employees, must wonder where that money is coming from.
